On a day like this...

“…I also have agreed to be a camp counselor at CHI RHO II, which for those of you who don't know is the second summer camp for the Jr High kids, from July 17th-22nd.”
Well, camp was a blast but I’m glad to be back and caught up on sleep. Here’s a rundown:Me and Chris left on Saturday and meet the other counselors at “Granny Had One” for dinner before heading to camp to set up for the kids who were supposed to get there at 7pm but some showed up as early as 2pm or 3pm. I helped make the daily slide shows for worship. Monday was supposed to be movie night but we couldn’t get the laptop and the projector to cooperate. Then on Tuesday the counselor hide and the kids sought, both trying to evade the “consequences”. Unfortunately my small group co-counselor and I were found and had to ingest the contents of a cup while blindfolded. Mine was sweet relish and hers was white gravy. At the night swim we got the movie working so we had a Dive-In movie. Wednesday was the dance, and I skanked to “Jump, Jive, and Wail.” On Thursday I traded belt buckles with Kirsten, she wore my Apricot JELL-O buckle and I wore her Fender Guitar buckle. I also dressed up as Shelby for the talent show Thursday night. On Friday some of the small groups got together and spelled out “We Love Camp” with their bodies on the conference center lawn and took pictures, then everybody got together for worship one last time. The guys in my cabin thought it would be funny (and it was) to each put on a pair of my converse (I took them all to camp) and match them to their shirts (which I admittedly did all week) but one kid didn’t have a red shirt so he “borrowed” my red pearl snap shirt and managed to make it home with it. I’m not mad, but I will get it back! After worship we packed up and headed home. This had to have been one of the best weeks for me in a while, I would defiantly do it again and the guys from my cabin asked me to be their next year.
