must... fight... laziness... and... post... update!

I know I haven’t updated in a while, but I have actually been busy. This really should have been three different posts.

For spring break I went to camp with the CYF and CHI RHO kids and we cleared a bunch of brush so they could put in a new ropes course. We were there from Saturday morning (the 11th) through Wednesday afternoon (the 16th). When we got there the trees had been cut down and trimmed already, but we had to clear it and I collected all the bigger logs and made a fire wood pile. I had to come back Sunday to run sound at church but made it back to camp by 2pm. We went to the First Christian Church of Edmond (I think) and played dodge ball

against the dodge ball team from the Christian church of Waco Texas and I got pegged in the back of the head because I kept turning around. We also had a video scavenger hunt of downtown Guthrie and played life-size Clue®. On Tuesday we burned the brush pile

and the true pyromaniacs stood the closest and played in it, myself included, though I was the only one who got burned (I grabbed a stick that I thought had white moss on it, but it turned out that it was part embers). And me and some of the kids shot a Kung-Fu movie that turned out really funny. Unfortunately, when I got home I started to itch and had gotten poison ivy on my face. My face has healed already but it spread just about everywhere else and still itches like crazy.

Then on Monday (the 21st) I was talking to Susan about her ignoring me and she said that I kind of blew it on our second date (we went to see Hitch on President’s Day, bad day) and that she was pretty much already seeing another guy. Well that sucks! I said we could still be friends but I’m a little pissed that it took a month for her to say something and I still had to ask. On the up side I’m a free agent once more and gained some experience at dealing with having a girlfriend (which I never really had to do before) and she said that she would tell her single friend Charlie about me and give her my number if she wanted it. So there is hope for me yet.

And for this weekend I went to “Six Flags Over Texas”

with the CYF and CHI RHO kids, which was a blast even though it was cold and rainy the entire time we were there. We got to Texas around 11pm Friday and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. They had a heated indoor pool and an outdoor pool and fountain that all were put to good use. I roomed with JD and Justin but made them share a bed and got one to myself. That morning all 21 of us went to “I-HOP” for breakfast and you should have seen the look on those peoples’ faces when our party got called. We got to Six Flags right at 12 noon and I ended up hanging out with Katy, Amber, and Beckie most of the day. I was a little miffed that the Titan was randomly closed due to rain only when I tried to go and ride it. And I got separated from everybody because I went to the arcade to play DDR and missed out on getteing to ride the Spongebob Squarepants VR ride. At 4:30pm most of us had had enough of the cold and rain and were ready to go home, but Julie wanted everybody to stay for the Christian concert (which was really why we came). Her and a few kids stayed but me and everyone else left then and ended up eating dinner at “Jack In The Box.”

We got home about 11pm and all the kids made it to church the next morning, eventually.

There is another camp from April 1st thru the 3rd, but I can’t go because there’s a wedding at church and I have to be there to run sound. Speaking of which, the girl that does sound with me sometimes at church, Heather,

got married on the 20th. Well, that’s all I got. Till next time… This has been a Nathan Acree production in association with my boring life story.

You've had a busy couple of weeks there, broseph...

My condolences on the whole Susan thing.

In other news, I was 3 hours late to work today...Rock, Rock on!
