Just a thought

I thought that I should commit this to words so that people will know it was my idea.

I think that there should be Punctuation for denoting sarcasm. It would almost have to be along the lines of quotation marks, in that it would have to start and end. The problem is that when you talk you can make sarcasm obvious, using different inflections or gestures, but when you type anything you say can be taken that way, or worse sarcasm is missed. Everybody seems to use the internet know, which is still mostly text, so people have attempted to compensate using quotation marks or italics or tildes and some even use html tags: i.e. “ < $arcasm > you are so cool < / $arcasm > NOT!” I think it would be so much easier if there were a universal symbol to use when you want to be witty or sophisticated with your humor.
