Oops, I forgot

Time for an update, plus I forgot some stuff the last time I posted.

First, Laura Green (current CYF/old CHI RHO leader at my church) asked me to help out with youth group on Sunday because they don’t have a new CHI RHO leader yet, so they have been combining youth groups, and she wanted another “adult.” I thought this was cool because I usually hang around anyway but she wanted to make sure I would be there. So I guess my presence/services are welcomed/appreciated after all. Plus the kids seem to like me, and they’re all pretty cool too.

Second, I totally forgot my biggest Japanese passion: DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION (or DDR)
which if you don’t know, is this Japanese arcade game where you “dance” certain steps to the beat of the music it plays. The music is great and the game is soooo addictive. Plus, if you download StepMania
(an emulator) and go to DDRUK.com or BemaniStyle.com for the music and steps you can play on your computer for free.

The japanese have stolen my soul

Hello Internet.
I have become obsessed with Japanese entertainment of late. I keep watching this anime called Naruto instead of doing my homework.

It’s about this kid who, when he was a baby, had a nine-tailed demon fox sealed in his navel. Now, he’s a teenager and all the adults hate him because they know what he is. The show starts with him just graduating from Ninja academy and chronicles his becoming a true ninja and hopefully to becoming the next “Hokage” (the best ninja in his village). The show is action-packed, but oddly comical (toilet humor, ect.). It hasn’t been imported yet, so it’s completely fan-subbed and still in Japanese, but I highly recommend watching it if you can find it. Also the theme song from the second season is really catchy (http://www.narutochuushin.com/downloads/script/downloads.php?title=soundtrack2_track01).
The other Japanese thing that haunts my every waking moment is Katamari Damacy (pronounced: Kat-A-Ma-Ree Da-Ma-She, roughly translates: clump of souls).

It’s this awesome PS2 game where pick up stuff by rolling around this sticky little ball called a Katamari. First only little things stick to it, but as it grows, bigger things will stick to it, if you get it big enough in the allotted time the King of All Cosmos (your dad) will turn it into a star because he accidentally destroyed all of them… somehow. The game is loads of fun and really easy, but that’s just half of the soul-sucking experience. The great part is the soundtrack to the game, it’s mostly J-Pop, but it’s catchy as hell, there’s this one song "Lonely Rolling Star" featuring Saki Kabata, the Stage Four Theme (http://turbine.slackworks.com/robots/tofu/ef.mp3) that’s playing constantly both on my computer and in my head. It’s so sweet I fear going diabetic just listening to it so much.
Oh, almost forgot. I mentioned last time that I volunteer at my church running all the sound equipment. Well, starting in January I will be getting paid for my services. AWESOME-POSSUMS! (don’t ask). Anyway, that’s plenty to tide you over for at least another week, which is good because it’s fall break this week/weekend. So until next time, always remember to put your best foot forward. If you're not sure which of your feet is your best foot, flip a coin, or have your feet run a race. When putting your best foot forward, be sure to have the proper footwear. If this requires purchasing new shoes, it's best that you get two... a right one and left one. And remember... People judge you not by the size of your feet, but by whether your socks match.
Goodbye internet.

the selling power of hotcakes

Well, I guess it's time for my monthly-or-so post. To recap, I had a birthday(sept. 27th) so I'm now 21. WOOT! In other news, I also went to see Shark Tale with a bunch of little kids ranging in age from about 5 to 15 I think (it was a church function). The movie wasn't so bad, and I sat with the oldest of the kids so I had an okay time. Upon our return to church we proceeded to play games such as "pew crawl," "pew hurdle," "Squat," and "Light as a feather, Sitff as a board." I've decided that I really enjoy helping out with the youth of my church, but mostly because I get to do all the fun stuff and be partly in charge at the same time. So I've been trying to decide if I should really pursure becomeing a youth sponsor, or focus more on the volunteer work I already do with running the sound equipment. I'll keep helping in a part-time capcity either way. But I have a feeling I can really only do one of them at a time effectively. On a side note, my sister is apparently a horible parker. First she gets towed for parking in a apartment parking lot, then she gets stuck in the mud in our own driveway. One more random thought. Have you ever noticed that the McDonald's Big Breakfast in just an unassembled Sausage Biscuit with Egg and a Hash Brown. Well, I gotta go, I'm suposed to be doing my homwork.
